Five Polite Ladies ditto ditto, watercolour, acrylic, manila paper, cardboard
One Blue Ditto Ditto at Madre, Margate
This is my favourite poem; a list of donated items left to the church by a woman named Clara van Halteren in the 1700s that I found in a book that I now cannot find the reference for — sorry Clara —
1 silk gown and skirt
1 ditto with ditto
1 ditto, without skirt
1 striped satin ditto
1 black silk ditto
1 ash-grey ditto
1 red silk ditto
1 yellow ditto
1 blue ditto ditto
From a series of mixed media pieces tracing the broken pieces of my flatmate’s fan from their corporate pride party; the little ladies are at a party, they are curious. The Silk Weaver’s argument is based on a lino print from the late 1700s detailing the silk weavers of Spitalfields arguing over French silk imports.
